Whozat was designed to search for people. But along the way, we designed our own algorithms for relevance and improved over the state-of-the-art. Which means that if you search for anything on Whozat (not just people), you may be pleasantly surprised. Just enter your query in the keywords field.
I just searched for how to cure a headache. Google returned The Sexy Illustrated Adventures of Max Magnus Norman Illustrerade Aventyr as its first result. Their second and third results were an abstract of an article on the pileated woodpecker (Dryocopus pileatus). Their fourth result returned a page not found. Their fifth result returned a joke –not a bad one at that. In contrast, Whozat returned as its first result an article entitled Headache Relief which offers numerous pointers to medicines, tools and treatments against headache. There were several other relevant results among the top 5.
Then I searched for google vs yahoo search market share, not to find out how much these jaw-dropping results were inspiring the masses, but to help in the budget distribution planning for a search engine marketing campaign for a customer (Whozat does not currently show any ads). Google’s first 5 results were relevant but outdated. Whozat has the most recent data of the lot on the subject in its #2, and several other relevant results among the top 5.
And these were simply the first two queries I made.
